Program Streams

Youth Training Stream
Target: 10 - 30 years old
Purpose: Provide sport-specific strength and conditioning for youth, with a focus on building foundational skills, injury prevention, and confidence in athletic movement.
Programming can include:
Judo, hockey, and speed skating partner sessions
AWG/NAIG prep
Strength & conditioning after school
Youth athlete mentorship and leadership training
Performance tracking and progress check-ins
Ideal Partners:
Schools, sports teams, Nunavut Speedskating, Judo Nunavut, Arctic Winter Games teams

School-Based Gym & Weight Room Support
**(pending funding through the Arctic Inspiration Prize)
Target: Schools across Nunavut, especially those serving youth aged 10–18
Purpose: Strength for Schools is a territory-wide initiative led by 867 Strength that will support schools in upgrading their gym and weight room spaces through equipment grants, training resources, and programming templates.
This opportunity will only become available if 867 Strength is selected as a winner of the Arctic Inspiration Prize. We are currently gathering school interest and support to strengthen our application and demonstrate real community need.
If Funded, Support Will Include:
Gym or weight room equipment grants (barbells, mats, squat racks, and more
Access to program templates and beginner-friendly workout plans
Optional coaching development, safety resources, and mentorship
Ongoing connection to 867 Strength’s network of strength and wellness advocates
Ideal Partners:
Schools and educators
Local school boards & GN Education
Youth-focused wellness or recreation programs
This initiative is built on collaboration — and driven by the belief that every school in Nunavut deserves access to the tools and support to help youth get stronger, healthier, and more confident.

Training in Nunavut
Target: Aspiring and existing coaches across Nunavut
Purpose: To expand coaches’ knowledge beyond just sport-specific skills and into a broader foundation of fitness, movement, and strength training. We invest in Nunavummiut to become confident, certified leaders who can coach safely, effectively, and with impact — in any sport or community setting.
Programming can include:
Funding and clinic support for certifications like CrossFit Level 1, NCCP, First Aid & CPR, Safe Sport, CanFitPro, CSEP, Precision Nutrition, and more
Education in strength training, mobility, recovery, and injury prevention
Peer mentorship, program design, and hands-on coaching experience
Opportunities to coach in youth programs, sport camps, and community sessions
Ongoing support for coaches in remote or under-resourced communities
Ideal Partners: Territorial and local sport organizations, local coaches, Team Nunavut coaches and athletes, etc.
